Who is responsible for your information?
Joe Curd trading as JCDC Electrical is the controller of personal information collected through this website and in connection with electrical service enquiries. The business is based in New Romney, Kent. Contact Joe at jcdc.electrical1@gmail.com or 07951 345328 for privacy enquiries or to request a postal contact address.
Information we collect
When you contact us or request a quote, we collect the details you provide: name, email address, telephone number where supplied, job address, property type, service required, job description and any photographs you choose to upload. Correspondence, agreed work details, invoices and relevant installation records may also form part of your customer record. Please avoid sending photographs containing unnecessary personal information or images of other people.
Our hosting and security services process technical information such as IP address, browser details, requested pages, timestamps and security events to deliver and protect the website. Optional analytics can collect information about page visits, device and browser characteristics, interactions and the source of a visit when you permit it through the cookie controls.
Why we use it and our lawful bases
- To respond to enquiries, assess a job, arrange visits and prepare quotes: steps you request before entering a contract.
- To carry out agreed electrical work and communicate about it: performance of our contract with you.
- To maintain required financial and other statutory records: compliance with legal obligations.
- To protect the website, manage business correspondence and establish or defend legal claims: our legitimate interests in operating a secure and accountable business, balanced against your rights.
- For optional analytics and cookies that require permission: your consent. You can change your choice using Cookie settings.
Submitting a quote enquiry does not sign you up for marketing. We do not use the enquiry form to make automated decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects.
Who receives the information?
Enquiries are stored in the website’s WordPress system and emailed to JCDC Electrical’s Gmail inbox. Uploaded photographs are stored with the enquiry with restricted access. Service providers used to operate the website, hosting and email include Hostinger and Google. Relevant information may also be shared with professional advisers, insurers, regulators or other parties where necessary to meet a legal obligation or deal with a claim. We do not sell your enquiry details.
Google Analytics, when enabled and permitted, processes visit information through Google. Google reviews and Instagram content involve Trustindex, Google, Smash Balloon and Meta/Instagram services. Following external links takes you to services governed by their own privacy notices. See our cookie policy for more information about optional technologies.
International processing
Some providers, including Google and Meta, may process information outside the UK. Where a restricted international transfer takes place, applicable UK data protection rules require a permitted transfer mechanism, such as adequacy arrangements or appropriate contractual safeguards. You can contact Joe for information about the providers used for your enquiry.
How long we keep information
Unsuccessful quote enquiries, including associated uploaded photographs, are retained for up to 12 months after the last meaningful contact and then deleted, unless a dispute or another legal requirement justifies keeping them longer. Records of completed work, invoices and related correspondence are kept for as long as needed to fulfil the work, meet legal record-keeping requirements and manage relevant warranties or claims. Records are reviewed and information that is no longer needed is removed. Backup copies may remain until the normal backup rotation replaces them.
Your choices and rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your personal information, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing. You do not have to provide optional information, but without the essential contact and job details we may be unable to respond or quote.
Email Joe with a privacy request. We may need to confirm your identity before providing personal information. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK data protection regulator. We would welcome the opportunity to address your concern first.
